Potentilla 'Mont d'Or' - 2026

Potentilla ‘Mont d’Or’ is a cheerful shrubby cinquefoil known for its semi-double golden-yellow flowers that brighten the garden from late spring into summer. The blossoms are carried above a neat mound of dark green, toothed foliage, creating a radiant display that contrasts beautifully with surrounding plants. The plant forms a compact, well-branched shrub-like habit, making it ideal for borders, sunny slopes, or patio containers where long-lasting colour is desired.

Mont d’Or thrives in full sun with well-drained soil and is fairly low-maintenance once established. It tolerates periods of dryness, but does best with regular moisture during hot spells. While non-native to the UK, it offers excellent ecological value, attracting pollinators such as bees and butterflies throughout its flowering period. Pruning back in early spring helps maintain its shape and encourages more flowering.
