Tradescantia andersoniana 'Charlotte' - 2026

Tradescantia ‘Charlotte’ is a delightful perennial that combines cheerful colour with graceful foliage for a long-lasting display. The plant forms tidy, spreading mounds of narrow, grassy leaves—blue-green in tone—which remain attractive even when not in flower. When summer arrives, ‘Charlotte’ produces large, three-petalled violet-purple blossoms with bright yellow stamens held on arching branched stems. These blooms open in succession from mid summer into autumn, bringing colour and interest to borders, containers or cottage-style plantings.

This Tradescantia thrives in moist but well-drained, fertile soil, and performs best in full sun or part shade. The more sunshine it gets, the more profuse the flowering, though a little afternoon shade helps in hotter locations to prevent scorched foliage.
