Introducing Deschampsia 'Goldtau', commonly known as 'Golden Dew' Tufted Hair Grass, a stunning ornamental grass that brings an ethereal touch to any garden or landscape. This graceful perennial is celebrated for its airy, golden inflorescences and lush, green foliage, providing both visual interest and movement throughout the seasons.
Key Features:
- Golden Flower Panicles: The highlight of Deschampsia 'Goldtau' is its delicate, shimmering flower panicles. These airy, golden blooms appear in late summer and persist into autumn, creating a soft, glowing effect that enhances any planting scheme.
- Lush Green Foliage: The fine-textured, dark green foliage forms a dense, tufted mound that serves as a beautiful backdrop for the golden blooms. The foliage remains attractive from spring through fall, providing long-lasting interest.
- Elegant Form: With its upright, clump-forming habit, 'Goldtau' adds structure and movement to the garden. The graceful, arching stems sway gently in the breeze, adding a sense of dynamism and natural beauty to the landscape.
- Versatile Use: Ideal for both formal and naturalistic garden settings, Deschampsia 'Goldtau' thrives in a variety of environments, including borders, meadows, and containers. It also works well in mass plantings or as a focal point in mixed beds.
- Low Maintenance: This ornamental grass is easy to grow and requires minimal care once established. It is highly adaptable to different soil types and conditions, making it a reliable choice for a wide range of garden styles.
- Year-Round Interest: While the golden flower panicles are the main attraction in late summer and autumn, the foliage remains appealing throughout the growing season, ensuring your garden has year-round visual interest.
Planting and Care:
To ensure your Deschampsia 'Goldtau' thrives, plant it in a location with full sun to partial shade. It prefers moist, well-drained soil but can tolerate a range of soil conditions. Regular watering during the establishment phase will help it settle in, after which it requires only occasional watering. Cut back the old foliage in early spring to encourage new growth and maintain its tidy appearance.
Enhance your garden with the enchanting beauty and graceful presence of Deschampsia 'Goldtau'. This ornamental grass promises to bring a touch of elegance and tranquility to your outdoor spaces, creating a landscape that glows with golden hues and natural charm. Embrace the allure of 'Goldtau' and enjoy a garden that is both serene and captivating throughout the seasons.

Recycled Growing Media
At Lincs Plants, we’re proud to use a recycled, peat free growing mix that’s made right here in Lincolnshire. It’s made from coir with around 20% silt loam added in.
The coir keeps the mix light and free draining, while the silt loam adds structure and helps hold moisture and nutrients. By recycling used media and using locally sourced materials, we cut down on waste and reduce the need for imported peat based composts.
This home grown mix is part of our commitment to sustainable growing and supporting local production wherever possible.
At Lincs Plants, we operate from two main locations. When you place an order, we prepare and pack plants across both sites depending on what you’ve ordered.
Site 1 – Packing and Distribution
This site holds:

Site 2 – Growing Site

Fruit trees
We start processing orders each morning at 8am.
Orders that include items from Site 2 are dispatched the following day.
Orders that only include items from Site 1 are usually dispatched the same day.
During our peak periods, we can process up to 3,000 orders a day across multiple departments. Each department either supports a main packing team or packs orders directly.
We have five collections a day, so orders can leave throughout the day as soon as they’re ready.
During busy times, if we experience any delays, we’ll post updates on our social media and website to give everyone a heads up. This helps keep customers informed if there’s likely to be a delay of a few days.
