Hosta 'Majesty' - 2026

Hosta ‘Majesty’ is a large, clump-forming perennial that makes a dramatic impact in shaded gardens with its bold variegated foliage. The leaves are blue-green in the centre with a wide margin of bright yellow that fades to creamy white later in the season, creating a luminous contrast that stands out among shade plants. The foliage is substantial, with a slightly ruffled or wavy edge and good substance, giving it form and texture even in lower light.

In mid to late summer, ‘Majesty’ produces upright scapes of lavender-purple flowers rising above the foliage, which attract pollinators. This hosta thrives in moist, fertile, well-drained soil and prefers partial shade to full shade, protecting it from strong afternoon sun especially where margins are light in colour. Once established it is relatively low maintenance, though it does need space to spread. It is non-native, hardy, and suited well to large borders, woodland edges, or as a specimen plant.
