Hosta sieboldiana 'Great Expectations' is a striking perennial renowned for its bold, variegated foliage and refined habit. The large, heart-shaped leaves are thick, puckered, and slightly corrugated, forming a dense mound that adds texture and colour to shaded or partially shaded gardens. The centres emerge gold in early spring, transitioning to creamy white by summer, surrounded by wide, irregular blue-green margins. In early to midsummer, tall scapes rise above the foliage carrying near-white flowers, providing vertical interest and attracting pollinators.

This cultivar thrives in moist, fertile, well-drained soil and prefers partial shade to full shade. Resistant to verticillium wilt and low-maintenance once established, it is excellent for borders, woodland gardens, or as a specimen plant where its striking foliage can be appreciated.
