Hosta ventricosa ‘Aureomaculata’ is a medium-to-large perennial admired for its eye-catching variegated foliage. The leaves emerge in spring with irregular chartreuse-gold and green centres, often mottled or streaked, framed by darker green margins. As the season advances, the bright central colours tend to fade, leaving foliage that is more uniformly green but still glossy and striking. In midsummer it bears tall scapes of purple, bell-shaped flowers that add vertical interest above the foliage.
