Hosta 'Whirlwind' - 2026

Hosta ‘Whirlwind’ is a medium-sized perennial forming a dense, clump-forming mound of foliage with pointed, twisted leaves. The leaf centres emerge creamy white in spring, shift to lime green in early summer, then gradually darken to rich green, while the margins remain dark green throughout. In mid to late summer, slender scapes bear pale lavender trumpet-shaped flowers above the foliage, adding subtle floral interest to shaded garden areas.

This hosta is valued for its bold, seasonally changing foliage and its ability to tolerate a range of shade conditions. Its thick, textured leaves help resist slug damage, and with moist, well-drained soil it performs reliably. It is excellent for borders, woodland gardens, groundcover, or containers and offers year-long interest from its variegated leaves.
