Monarda 'Raspberry Wine' - 2026

Monarda ‘Raspberry Wine’ is a bold, clump-forming perennial that brings a rich wine-red and raspberry-toned splash to summer borders. From June through August, it produces upright stems topped with clusters of tubular flowers set against decorative dark red bracts, creating a dramatic show of colour. The foliage is deeply veined, aromatic and mid-green, offering both visual texture and fragrance when brushed. This variety is considered quite mildew resistant compared to many older Monarda types, making it a more reliable choice for UK gardens when sited well.

Ecologically, ‘Raspberry Wine’ is highly attractive to bees, butterflies and other pollinators, feeding on its nectar over a long flowering period. The scented leaves also contribute to garden atmosphere and paths. It prefers full sun to partial shade and thrives in moist but well-drained, fertile soil.
