The plumes are excellent cut and dried.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eGrow in full sun in deep, well-drained soil; it tolerates wind and drought once established. Fully hardy in the UK. Young plants may take two or three years to produce plumes. Wear thick gloves when handling, as the leaf edges are very sharp. In late winter or early spring, cut back and comb out old flower stems and dead leaves before new growth starts.
