The Cottage Garden theme features a delightful blend of herbaceous perennials planted informally, creating a vibrant burst of colours. These borders are known for attracting British wildlife like butterflies and bees due to their scents and hues. If you aim to establish a border that appeals to wildlife, emanates a beautiful fragrance, and dazzles with colours, our ready-made collection is your ideal choice.
The plant selection may include but is not limited to: Anemones, Campanulas, Coreopsis, Echinops, Delphiniums, Leucanthemum, Lupins, Helleiopsis, Salvia, Delphiniums, Verbena, Veronica, Poppies, Hardy Geraniums, Peonies, Achillea, Gaillardia, Lobelia, Echinacea, Rudbeckia, Penstemon, and more.
For planting, we suggest arranging taller perennials at the back, medium-sized ones in the middle, and low-growing or ground cover perennials at the front. This is a flexible guide, and you can explore different positions, as the Cottage Garden theme encourages creativity. Each plant will arrive with its own individual label that shows an image of the plant in bloom, a short description on the plant and the eventual height and spread. Opting for a size above your dimensions ensures you have enough plants to fill your border while securing them at the lowest cost.
After planting, we recommend watering your border every day or every two days during hot and dry months. As the weather becomes wetter, reduce watering to once a week.
In midsummer, assess your garden's sunlight:
- Full Shade: 0-2.5 hours of direct sunlight
- Partial Shade: 3-5.5 hours of direct sunlight
- Full Sun: 6 hours or more of direct sunlight
Plants will arrive in 9cm or 2L growers pots which ever size you choose. Herbaceous perennials die back in autumn, and new growth appears in spring. Please note that the images are for illustrative purposes only.

Orders are processed within 1 - 3 business day after payment confirmation. Orders placed on weekends or public holidays will be processed the next business day.

- Express Shipping (1-2 days): For quicker delivery, choose express shipping at checkout, ensuring your plants arrive within 1-2 days.
Dispatch Methods:
We use various reliable carriers depending on your location and the nature of the plants ordered. We ensure that all plants are packed securely to maintain freshness during transit.
Shipping Costs:
Shipping costs are calculated based on the size, weight, and destination of your order and will be displayed at checkout.
Delivery Times:
Delivery times may vary depending on your location. Please allow 1-3 business days from the dispatch date for delivery.
Plant Care Upon Arrival:
We take great care to ensure your plants arrive in excellent condition. Upon receipt, please unpack them immediately and follow our care instructions.

Recycled Growing Media
At Lincs Plants, we’re proud to use a recycled, peat free growing mix that’s made right here in Lincolnshire. It’s made from coir with around 20% silt loam added in.
The coir keeps the mix light and free draining, while the silt loam adds structure and helps hold moisture and nutrients. By recycling used media and using locally sourced materials, we cut down on waste and reduce the need for imported peat based composts.
This home grown mix is part of our commitment to sustainable growing and supporting local production wherever possible.
At Lincs Plants, we operate from two main locations. When you place an order, we prepare and pack plants across both sites depending on what you’ve ordered.
Site 1 – Packing and Distribution
This site holds:
Oxygenating bunches
Loose lilies
Aquarium plants
Snails
Pots
Pond packs
Site 2 – Growing Site
This site holds:
Potted lilies
Potted plants
Plugs
Floating plants
Tropical plants
Fruit trees
We start processing orders each morning at 8am.
Orders that include items from Site 2 are dispatched the following day.
Orders that only include items from Site 1 are usually dispatched the same day.
During our peak periods, we can process up to 3,000 orders a day across multiple departments. Each department either supports a main packing team or packs orders directly.
We have five collections a day, so orders can leave throughout the day as soon as they’re ready.
During busy times, if we experience any delays, we’ll post updates on our social media and website to give everyone a heads up. This helps keep customers informed if there’s likely to be a delay of a few days.
