It is excellent for hot-coloured schemes, cottage borders and for cutting, and the flowers attract bees.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003ePlant in full sun or light shade in moist but well-drained soil; it tolerates chalk and clay and is hardy in most of the UK. Plant the corms about 10cm deep. Remove dead leaves and flower stems before new growth starts in spring. Lift and divide congested clumps when dormant to keep them flowering well.
