erysimum-hybridum-canaries-yellow-9cm-potted
Erysimum hybridum 'Canaries Yellow'

Erysimum 'Canaries Yellow' is a compact, bushy wallflower with narrow dark green leaves and fragrant golden-yellow flowers that appear very early in spring and continue into early summer. It stays neat and low, making it a bright choice for the front of a border, rockeries, raised beds, window boxes and spring containers alongside tulips and other bulbs.

Grow in full sun in well-drained, neutral to alkaline soil; it copes well with dry conditions once established but dislikes winter wet. Hardy in most UK gardens (RHS H5). It is a short-lived perennial that is often grown as a biennial, so expect to replace plants after a season or two, though it may self-seed. Cut back by about half after flowering to keep it bushy. Early flowers are valuable for bees.
