Helleborus orientalis 'Double Vision' - 2026

Helleborus orientalis ‘Double Vision’ is a bushy, deciduous perennial that produces double, multi-coloured bowl-shaped flowers in shades of white, yellow, pink, red and purple from February to April. These blooms sit above leathery, dark green, evergreen foliage, providing structure and strong early-season interest in borders, shady beds or woodland gardens. The plant's clump-forming habit makes it useful for ground layer planting beneath trees or in mixed perennial schemes.

This cultivar prefers part shade with moist, humus-rich but well-drained soil. Once established it is hardy and relatively low maintenance. Removal of old foliage before flowering and trimming of spent blooms can improve flower visibility and reduce disease risk. Regular division every few years will help maintain vigour and bulk.
