hosta-august-moon-9cm-potted
Hosta 'August Moon'

Hosta 'August Moon' is a popular medium-sized plantain lily with bright golden, deeply crinkled leaves that form a sturdy mound. Near-white lily-like flowers appear above the foliage in midsummer. The gold leaves bring light to shady borders and woodland plantings, and contrast well with blue and dark green hostas, ferns and grasses. It also grows well in containers.

Grow in partial shade in moist, fertile, humus-rich soil; a little morning sun brings out the gold colour, but avoid hot afternoon sun. It is fully hardy and easy to grow. Protect new shoots from slugs and snails, mulch in spring, and cut back the foliage when it dies down in autumn. Divide in spring or autumn. Bees visit the flowers.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0861/1590/9979/files/Hosta_AugustMoon_01_2a0c235f-48f7-48fc-bb70-a806d33a546e.jpg?v=1793267070
