Hosta 'El Niño' - 2026

Hosta 'El Niño' is a medium-sized perennial that forms a dense, upright clump of thick, heart-shaped leaves. The foliage is a striking blue-green, more intense in the centre, with irregular pure white to grey-green streaked margins. The leaves are slightly cupped and have a waxy surface, adding texture and interest to shaded garden areas.

In mid to late summer, 'El Niño' produces tall scapes adorned with clusters of bell-shaped, pale purple flowers with darker stripes, adding vertical interest and attracting pollinators. This cultivar thrives in moist, well-drained soils and prefers partial to full shade. It is relatively low-maintenance, requiring minimal care to thrive and provide year-round interest in the garden.
