Hosta fluctuans 'Variegated' - 2026

Hosta fluctuans 'Variegated', also known as Hosta 'Sagae', is a large, vase-shaped perennial that forms a substantial mound of foliage. Its thick, heart-shaped leaves are frosty blue-green with broad, creamy-yellow margins that age to white as the season progresses. The leaves have a heavy substance and wavy edges, making them highly ornamental and resistant to slug damage.

In mid to late summer, 'Sagae' produces tall scapes adorned with clusters of pale lavender, bell-shaped flowers, adding vertical interest and attracting pollinators. This cultivar thrives in moist, well-drained soils and prefers partial to full shade. It is relatively low-maintenance, requiring minimal care to thrive and provide year-round interest in the garden.
