Hosta 'Get Nekkid' - 2026

Hosta 'Get Nekkid' is a medium-sized, mound-forming perennial known for its very glossy green foliage and striking summer floral display. It arises from a cross between Hosta 'Elvis Lives' and Hosta yingeri 'Treasure Island'. The leaves are wavy, deeply glossy, and form a lush, rippled mound that catches light beautifully in shade. The shiny foliage adds textural contrast in shade gardens and pairs well with variegated or blue-leaved neighbours.

In early to mid summer, ‘Get Nekkid’ produces tall scapes of lavender-purple “spider-style” flowers which bloom over several weeks—often up to six. These are held above the foliage and offer an impressive floral show. The plant thrives in moist, well-drained soil with partial shade to shade, tolerates some sun if watered well, and benefits from regular mulching to retain moisture and protect roots. Slugs may nibble young leaves, so some protection in the early season helps preserve its glossy leaf surface.
