Hosta 'Grand Marquee' - 2026

Hosta ‘Grand Marquee’ is a medium-sized, clump-forming perennial that catches the eye with its shifting foliage tones and substantial presence in shady or partially shaded garden beds. The leaves emerge bluish with a small lime-green centre, which gradually expands and fades toward pale green to creamy yellow as the season matures. The leaf texture is thick, slightly shiny, with well-marked veins and a lustrous surface that reflects light, giving the plant a shimmering effect. This cultivar is often compared to ‘Catherine’ and ‘Touch of Class’ for its elegant variegation and bold presentation.

In summer, ‘Grand Marquee’ bears upright scapes of pale lavender flowers that rise above the foliage mound, adding both height and softness to the display. It prefers moist, humus-rich but well-drained soil, performing best in partial to full shade. While the yellow-cream centres benefit from some morning or dappled light, protection from hot afternoon sun helps maintain the leaf margins’ contrast.
