Hosta 'Love Pat' - 2026

Hosta ‘Love Pat’ is a striking perennial prized for its intense, powdery blue foliage that forms rounded, deeply cupped leaves with heavy corrugation and waviness. The foliage creates a dense, vigorous mound that adds strong texture and colour to shady garden spaces. In mid-to-late summer it produces upright scapes carrying near-white to very pale lavender, tubular flowers which contrast beautifully against the rich blue leaves.

This cultivar thrives in moist, rich, well-drained soil and prefers partial to full shade. Once established it shows good slug resistance thanks to its thick, textured leaves. It makes a handsome specimen plant, as a massed border plant, or in containers. It is non-native but hardy and a medium-large size makes it impressive in woodland settings and under tree canopies where low light is a feature.
