Hosta 'Margie's Angel' - 2026

Hosta ‘Margie’s Angel’ is a beautiful perennial that brings striking colour contrast and lush foliage to shaded garden spots. The leaves are heart-shaped and have vivid golden-yellow centres edged by wide dark green margins, with prominent veins and a slightly rippled surface that adds texture and visual depth. As the plant matures, the gold centre tends to lighten, but the margin remains richly green, creating a glowing, variegated effect that’s especially eye-catching in bright shade or dappled light.

In early to mid summer this hosta produces upright scapes of pale lavender flowers that rise just above the foliage, attracting bees and butterflies. It thrives in moist, well-drained, rich soil and prefers partial shade to full shade; too much direct sun may scorch the edges. Once established, it is moderately low-maintenance, with good resistance to common foliage issues. Non-native in the UK, it makes an excellent specimen for borders or containers, and works well for brightening shaded beds with its bold variegation.
