Hosta 'Ripple Effect' - 2026

Hosta ‘Ripple Effect’ is a compact, clump-forming perennial prized for its highly undulating foliage and striking seasonal colour change. The leaves emerge bright yellow with a thin blue-green margin, rippled and narrow, and as summer progresses they mature to chartreuse with the margins deepening in green. Its textured foliage adds exceptional visual interest, especially in shaded or partially shaded borders. In mid-summer, loose clusters of pale lavender tubular flowers appear above the foliage, attracting pollinators and enriching the garden’s ecological value.

This variety thrives in fertile, moist but well-drained soil rich in organic matter. It prefers partial shade to full shade; morning sun helps deepen the yellow without scorching. It’s moderately easy to grow, with notable slug resistance, making it suitable for mixed beds, containers or accent planting.
