Hosta 'Sandhill Crane' - 2026

Hosta ‘Sandhill Crane’ is a very striking perennial which adds architectural interest and variegated foliage to shaded or partially shaded gardens. The leaves are unusually long and narrow, upright in habit, green with a creamy-white margin that can turn fully white as the foliage matures. In mid to late summer, it produces lavender-purple flowers on tall scapes that rise well above the foliage, making for a dramatic display. Ecologically it offers moisture retention under its foliage and provides shelter for ground-dwellers, also attracting pollinators with its blooms.

This hosta thrives in fertile, moist but well-drained soil, ideally enriched with organic matter. It prefers partial shade to full shade, avoiding harsh direct sun to prevent margin burn.
