Introducing Juncus spiralis, commonly known as Corkscrew Rush, an intriguing ornamental grass that brings unique texture and visual interest to any garden or landscape. With its curly, spiraled stems and versatile growth habits, this plant is a delightful addition for gardeners seeking something truly distinctive.
Key Features:
- Unique Spiral Stems: The hallmark of Juncus spiralis is its whimsical, corkscrew-like stems. These twisted, dark green stems create a striking architectural element that adds movement and texture to garden beds, borders, and containers.
- Versatile Use: Whether used as a focal point in a water garden, an accent in mixed borders, or in containers, Corkscrew Rush adapts well to various garden styles and settings. It thrives both in wet conditions and standard garden soils, making it incredibly versatile.
- Low Maintenance: This ornamental grass is remarkably easy to care for. Once established, it requires minimal maintenance, making it ideal for busy gardeners or those new to gardening.
- Year-Round Interest: Unlike many perennials that die back in winter, Juncus spiralis maintains its structure and color throughout the year, providing continuous interest even in the colder months.
- Wildlife Friendly: In addition to its ornamental value, Corkscrew Rush can contribute to the local ecosystem by providing habitat for small wildlife and attracting beneficial insects.
Planting and Care:
To ensure your Juncus spiralis thrives, plant it in a location with full to partial sun. It prefers consistently moist to wet soil, making it an excellent choice for areas near water features or in rain gardens. However, it can also adapt to standard garden soils if watered regularly. Little pruning is required, though removing any dead or damaged stems can help maintain its appearance.
Enhance your garden with the whimsical charm and effortless elegance of Juncus spiralis. This ornamental grass promises to be a conversation starter and a visual delight, bringing year-round beauty and unique texture to your outdoor spaces. Embrace the distinctive appeal of Corkscrew Rush and transform your garden into a captivating landscape of form and function.

Recycled Growing Media
At Lincs Plants, we’re proud to use a recycled, peat free growing mix that’s made right here in Lincolnshire. It’s made from coir with around 20% silt loam added in.
The coir keeps the mix light and free draining, while the silt loam adds structure and helps hold moisture and nutrients. By recycling used media and using locally sourced materials, we cut down on waste and reduce the need for imported peat based composts.
This home grown mix is part of our commitment to sustainable growing and supporting local production wherever possible.
At Lincs Plants, we operate from two main locations. When you place an order, we prepare and pack plants across both sites depending on what you’ve ordered.
Site 1 – Packing and Distribution
This site holds:
Oxygenating bunches
Loose lilies
Aquarium plants
Snails
Pots
Pond packs
Site 2 – Growing Site
This site holds:
Potted lilies
Potted plants
Plugs
Floating plants
Tropical plants
Fruit trees
We start processing orders each morning at 8am.
Orders that include items from Site 2 are dispatched the following day.
Orders that only include items from Site 1 are usually dispatched the same day.
During our peak periods, we can process up to 3,000 orders a day across multiple departments. Each department either supports a main packing team or packs orders directly.
We have five collections a day, so orders can leave throughout the day as soon as they’re ready.
During busy times, if we experience any delays, we’ll post updates on our social media and website to give everyone a heads up. This helps keep customers informed if there’s likely to be a delay of a few days.
