The Herb Kitchen Garden has all you need to get growing. As well as one packet each of basil, chives, coriander and parsley, you get four plastic pots, compost and a decorative wooden trough to turn it into a real feature on the kitchen windowsill.
If you want to try different herbs, choose your varieties and grow them in small pots. You don’t want the added steps and mess of having to prick out and pot on your herbs, so choose a general compost with a good nutrient level, such as Gro-Sure All Purpose Compost.
Getting started:
•Fill pots with compost, level the surface and water in
•Set a dozen or so seeds across the surface then lightly cover with more compost
•Cover with cling film until seedlings emerge
Growing on:
•Keep pots well watered – they can soon dry out in the warmth of the house
•Pinch out the growing tips when the plants are young, to encourage bushy growth
•Pick leaves regularly, again helping to create bushy plants

Recycled Growing Media
At Lincs Plants, we’re proud to use a recycled, peat free growing mix that’s made right here in Lincolnshire. It’s made from coir with around 20% silt loam added in.
The coir keeps the mix light and free draining, while the silt loam adds structure and helps hold moisture and nutrients. By recycling used media and using locally sourced materials, we cut down on waste and reduce the need for imported peat based composts.
This home grown mix is part of our commitment to sustainable growing and supporting local production wherever possible.
At Lincs Plants, we operate from two main locations. When you place an order, we prepare and pack plants across both sites depending on what you’ve ordered.
Site 1 – Packing and Distribution

Site 2 – Growing Site

We start processing orders each morning at 8am.
Orders that include items from Site 2 are dispatched the following day.
Orders that only include items from Site 1 are usually dispatched the same day.
During our peak periods, we can process up to 3,000 orders a day across multiple departments. Each department either supports a main packing team or packs orders directly.
We have five collections a day, so orders can leave throughout the day as soon as they’re ready.
During busy times, if we experience any delays, we’ll post updates on our social media and website to give everyone a heads up. This helps keep customers informed if there’s likely to be a delay of a few days.
