Monarda 'Prärienacht' - 2026

Monarda ‘Prärienacht’ is a beautiful perennial that brings rich lilac-purple flower heads and decorative brown-red bracts to summer borders. From mid-summer through early autumn, it produces globular clusters of tubular blooms atop upright stems, creating a vivid display against aromatic, mid-green foliage. Its elegant colouring is especially striking when planted in groups or paired with ornamental grasses or softer foliage plants. It is relatively low maintenance, with a clump-forming habit and good durability in the right conditions.

Ecologically, ‘Prärienacht’ is excellent for pollinators such as bees and butterflies, due to its profuse flowering and nectar production. The scented foliage adds an additional layer of sensory interest for gardens. It prefers full sun to partial shade, thrives in moist but well-drained, humus-rich soil, and dislikes excessively wet winters. With good air circulation and routine division every few years it remains healthy and floriferous.
