Nepeta faassenii - 2026

Nepeta faassenii, commonly known as garden catmint, is a hardy perennial native to the Caucasus region. This compact, clump-forming plant is prized for its aromatic, grey-green foliage and profusion of small, tubular, light violet-blue flowers that bloom from late spring through to early autumn. The flowers are borne in terminal whorls along ascending stems, attracting a variety of pollinators, including bees and butterflies. The aromatic leaves emit a pleasant fragrance when brushed or crushed, adding sensory interest to the garden.

'Faassenii' is particularly valued for its resilience and low-maintenance nature. It thrives in well-drained soils and prefers full sun but can tolerate partial shade.
