Scilla bifolia 'Rosea' Bulb

Scilla bifolia 'Rosea' is a delicate, early-flowering bulbous perennial known for its soft charm and reliability in woodland and naturalised settings. This cultivar of the well-known alpine squill produces loose spikes of pale pink, star-like flowers, which emerge in early spring and provide a gentle, pastel-toned contrast to the typical blue forms. The blooms appear on short, upright stems above a pair of narrow, glossy green leaves. Each flower measures around 1 - 2 cm across and adds subtle colour to shady borders, under deciduous trees, or in mixed bulb plantings. Like the species, 'Rosea' prefers moist but well-drained soils and thrives in conditions where it receives light before the canopy develops. Once established, it will spread by seed or offsets, gradually forming attractive drifts. Hardy and dependable, it offers early nectar for pollinators and blends beautifully with snowdrops and anemones in natural-style plantings.
