Trollius chinensis 'Golden Queen' - 2026

Trollius chinensis ‘Golden Queen’ is a showy, moisture-loving perennial valued for its bold, bowl-shaped blooms and tall stature. It produces deeply lobed, sharply toothing dark green leaves forming a lush clump. In late spring to early summer it bears large, vibrant orange-yellow or golden orange flowers held aloft on long stems above the foliage. The flowers are striking and glowing, especially in damp or semi-shaded positions, and create a focal point in moist borders, pond edges or bog gardens. The plant is hardy and reliable, forming impressive clumps over time.

Ecologically, ‘Golden Queen’ is excellent for pollinators, offering plentiful flowers during a time many other garden plants are past peak. It prefers rich, moist, even poorly drained soil and thrives in full sun to partial shade.
