Monarda 'On Parade' - 2026)

Monarda 'On Parade' is a compact, clump-forming perennial that offers a striking display of magenta-pink flowers across summer into early autumn. Upright stems carry whorls of tubular, two-lipped blooms with decorative, dark-red flushed bracts and a dark centre, creating both colour and texture against lance-shaped, aromatic mid-green foliage. The plant has good mildew resistance compared to many monardas, making it a dependable performer even in humid garden conditions.

Ecologically, 'On Parade' is excellent for pollinators — bees and butterflies are strongly attracted by its nectar-rich flowers. The scented foliage adds interest to stroll-by gardens and informal beds. It thrives in moist but well-drained soil, preferring full sun or partial shade. With regular deadheading and division every few years, the plant spreads nicely without becoming overwhelming.
