Early Maincrop Variety: Orla potatoes mature in around 18-20 weeks, offering an earlier harvest compared to traditional maincrop varieties.

-
High Yield: Orla produces a generous crop of uniform tubers, ensuring a plentiful harvest.
-
Disease Resistant: Excellent resistance to common potato diseases, including blight, makes Orla a reliable choice for organic growing.
-
Versatile Use: Suitable for all cooking methods, making it a great all-rounder for the kitchen.
Growing Instructions:
Plant maincrop potatoes from March. Before planting, 'chit' the seed potatoes by setting them out in a cool, bright position (around 10°C / 50°F) to allow them to sprout.
When growing maincrop potatoes in the ground, avoid planting in soil where potatoes have been grown for two years in succession to reduce the risk of disease. Select a sheltered position in full sun with moist, well-drained soil, and dig in plenty of well-rotted manure. Plant the seed potatoes in rows, spacing them 45cm (18") apart with rows set 75cm (2', 6") apart. Place the seed potatoes into 10cm (4") deep trenches and backfill with soil. When the shoots reach 20cm (8"), mound up the soil around them, leaving just a few centimetres visible. Repeat this earthing-up process after another three weeks.
For limited space, consider growing potatoes in bags. Fill an 8-litre potato bag with high-quality compost mixed with well-rotted manure, leaving some space at the top. Carefully plant a single chitted tuber with the shoots facing upwards at a depth of 12cm (5") from the soil surface. Position the bags in a sunny spot and water regularly to keep the compost moist.
By following these steps, you'll enjoy a healthy and abundant harvest of Orla Seed Potatoes, perfect for all your favourite dishes!

Recycled Growing Media
At Lincs Plants, we’re proud to use a recycled, peat free growing mix that’s made right here in Lincolnshire. It’s made from coir with around 20% silt loam added in.
The coir keeps the mix light and free draining, while the silt loam adds structure and helps hold moisture and nutrients. By recycling used media and using locally sourced materials, we cut down on waste and reduce the need for imported peat based composts.
This home grown mix is part of our commitment to sustainable growing and supporting local production wherever possible.
At Lincs Plants, we operate from two main locations. When you place an order, we prepare and pack plants across both sites depending on what you’ve ordered.
